The Northeast location of Iowa Spring, now known as Iowa Spring Northeast Facility, has a long legacy of precision manufacturing in the spring industry. Originally founded as Northeast Spring, Inc. in 1989 in Reading, Pennsylvania, this facility built a strong reputation for producing high-quality custom springs for the overhead garage door industry, including residential, commercial, and industrial door applications. For more than 30 years, Northeast Spring specialized in custom torsion springs, extension springs, compression springs, and wire forms in the .080 to .625 wire range, serving OEMs, manufacturers, and suppliers across the United States and around the world.
Located in a strategically positioned manufacturing hub, the facility also offered spring solutions and customized services tailored to specific customer requirements. Its dedicated in-house truck fleet supported reliable, fast and even Just-in-time delivery, throughout the region.
In 2023, this long-standing Pennsylvania spring manufacturer officially joined the Iowa Spring Manufacturing group of companies with the acquisition of Northeast Spring. This strategic expansion broadened Iowa Spring’s manufacturing footprint, adding a 37,000-square-foot facility that enhances production capacity, increases geographic reach, and strengthens service for customers in the overhead door, industrial hardware, agricultural, and construction markets. Combining the capabilities and legacies of both organizations has enabled Iowa Spring to deliver even greater value.
Today, the Iowa Spring – Northeast Facility continues to uphold the highest standards of spring manufacturing. In addition to custom spring design services, the location’s dedicated truck fleet ensures fast, on-time delivery to meet the needs of door manufacturers, distributors, and industrial customers. With its deep roots in spring craftsmanship and expanded capabilities under the Iowa Spring umbrella, this facility remains a key part of delivering reliable, precision-engineered spring solutions across North America and beyond.

Beginning as an overhead garage door spring and agricultural spring manufacturer, our growth in those industries and our expansion into the mechanical springs market, has led to many additions to our factory.
In 2023, we built a second facility in Adel to accommodate our growth.
